Head-butting Laryea suspended for six months

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) on has suspended Super Bantamweight boxer Mohamed Laryea for abandoning the national super bantamweight fight against Alfred Tetteh after a point was deducted from his point haul for persistent head butting.

According to an official of the GBA, the corner men of the fighter have also been suspended for the same duration from any fight sanctioned by the authority.

It would be recalled that during the sixth round of his 12 round national Super bantamweight championship title fight against Tetteh, Leayea refused to continue the fight after a point deduction for the offence.

The GBA official told the GNA Sports that an investigation has been launched into the boxers' behaviour to get to the bottom of the matter.

The Official said they have also withheld the boxers purse for the match pending the out come of the investigations.
