Heart Beak Jinx - Beat Hasaacas

Visiting Accra Hearts of Oak on Wednesday humiliated and broke the jinx by beating Sekondi Hasaacas two nil at the Gyandu Park. Hearts youngster, Louis Agyeman opened the scores in the eighth minute when he out-jumped keeper Ekow Appiah in the posts for Hasaacas to head home the opener.
The early goal gingered Hearts to fire from all cylinders and relied heavily on left-winger Francis Bossman in search of more goals but most of their efforts were thwarted by the excellent efforts of the Hasaacas defense.
The early goal however did not dampen the spirit of the Sekondi lads as they cheered on by their drumming supporters who sang and chanted even in defeat.
Hasaacas matched the visitors boot for boot with their inter-positional passes, though their speed was sluggish and managed to regain their form depriving Hearts arrow-head, Bernard Don Bortey another opportunity to score in a goal mouth melee.
Don Bortey was on hand again just 10 minutes into the second half when he made another incursion into the vital area of Hasaacas but the goal posts deprived him yet another opportunity after keeper Appiah was stranded and looked on helplessly.
Bossman of Hearts and Ricky Essuman of Hasaacas were shown the yellow card in the 53rd and 79th minute respectively for dissent. The inclusion of Lawrence Adjei, Dan Oppong and Frank Kornu for the Hearts side saw a change in their tactical play but Alhassan B. Awudu and Isaac Anderson of Hasaacas could not fetch the needed equalizer. Hearts relyed heavily on Lawrence Adjei at the right wing to increase the score line in the 88th minute and this sent the entire park into frenzy with their supporters in a jubilant mood with shouts and adulations amid singing of "Hearts is a mighty team".
Hasaacas managed to hold back the forward lines of Hearst but could not redeem a goal and disappointed the massive home support they enjoyed.
