Heart of Lions hold Hasaacas

Sekondi Nov.17, GNA - The GT Premier league match between Sekondi Hasaacas and visiting Heart of Lions ended in a goal-less draw (0-0) at the Sekondi Gyandu Park on Wednesday.

Both sides played tactical to gain control of the game soon after the blast of the referee' whistle but it was Hasaacas who took advantage of its home support by pressurising Heart of Lions into defending their goal area.

Hasaacas managed to hold their opponents at bay and attacked from the flanks but when this failed to produce the needed results, they decided to launch a full-scale attack.

Heart of Lions managed to stage a come back and took control of the mid-field after Hasaacas failure to find the opener.

The visitors tactically made incursions into the goal area of Hasaacas and the home team had to tighten up its defence denying the attackers of Heart of Lions to utilise some of their scoring chances.

Back from the recess, Hasaacas continued with their attack but the visitors proved unyielding as they showed greater determination to carry the day.

The efforts of both teams failed to find the winner until the final blast of whistle to end the day's proceedings.

At Cape Coast, Feyenoord Academy worsened the plight of relegation threatened Accra Great Olympics when they beat them 1-0 in their GT Premier League match at the Cape Coast Sports stadium on Wednesday. After a goalless first half, both sides made some changes in the second half.

The changes rather favoured Feyenoord as they started to dominate and dictate the pace of the game and earned a free kick in the 60th minute. The well taken free kick by outside left Isaac Bortey went straight to full back Yakini Iddi who made no mistake in connecting the ball into the net in the 61st minute.

Olympics had their best chance of finding the equaliser in the 75th minute when Paa Joe Kuma's goal-bound shot was scooped from the line by Isaac Bortey to end the game in favour of Feyenoord.
