Hearts Of Oak To Sack Defender Phillip Boampong

Accra Hearts of Oak are on the verge pf parting ways with one of their players, Phillip Boampong, ghanafootballnews.com has learnt.

According to our sources, the head coach of the Club is not happy with the players output, especially his performance for the team in the just ended G-6 invitational tournament and has asked the management that he cannot work with him.

Boampong was one of the many players who were touted to leave the Club after last season, but according to the transfer list submitted by the coaches, he was excluded.

He commenced training with the team after their trip from Libya and so far, has been actively involved in all training programs.

It will be recalled that coach Kenichi earlier during the preseason, opted to sign Heart of Lions defender, John Kuffour as a replacement to Boampong, a move that was foiled by the Managment back then.

It is relatively unknown what might have caused this recent decision to axe him from the team ahead of next season, but ghanafootballnews.com sources have mentioned that the decision to either let him stay or remain with the team will be taken on Thursday.
