Hearts PRO: Time for fans to show love for club

Albert Commey Aryeetey, Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Assistant Administrative Manager of Hearts of Oak has called on fans of the club to show their true support for the former champions in what are clearly tough times for the former Ghanaian champions.

Hearts have struggled for consistency this season and are engulfed in a relegation dogfight at the bottom of the Glo Ghana Premier League with just five games to play in 2010/11. The Phobians lost again, 0-1 at champions-elect Berekum Chelsea in last Sunday’s Match Day 25 fixture to remain just four points above King Faisal who occupy the third relegation spot.

But Mr. Commey has assured fans of the 2000 African champions not to worry about any relegation problems because the club has got the perfect plan to excel in the remaining 5 Match Days beginning with the Match Day 26 date against relegation candidates BA Stars at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.

Against the background of Hearts’ centenary year, the PRO maintains that this season’s difficulties are just a blip from which they will bounce back. He has appealed for calm, promising that the Phobians will return very strongly next season for the club to celebrate the 100th anniversary in November on a high note.

“In the remaining 5 matches, we will take each match at a time. Management is working behind the scenes to fix things and properly restructure the team come next season.

“We urge all well meaning supporters of the club to help the club at this crucial period. This is the time we must show we truly love the club,” Mr. Commey told All Sports on Monday.
