Former Ghana international, Charles Taylor Asampong, has bemoaned the poor performance of both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in the domestic league, stating that the two clubs are no longer big teams.

Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have both struggled in the ongoing campaign in the domestic league. While the Phobians have won two and lost three of their last five matches, the Porcupine Warriors have likewise won two, lost two, and drawn once in their last five matches.

With only two points separating the two big clubs in Ghana, Hearts of Oak 12 and Asante Kotoko 10, Charles Taylor, who played for both teams, says fans of the two clubs deserve an apology from their clubs.

He noted that the season is completely over for both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

“The season is over for both Kotoko and Hearts. They have to apologize to their fans; they have disappointed them,” he said on Angel TV.

“Now I can say Kotoko and Hearts are big clubs but not big teams. They have made the name as a club, but they don’t have a team anymore,” Taylor added.

Taylor explained the struggles of the two sides: “It's like having two bad students; no matter what, they will fail. When you look at the results of both Kotoko and Hearts, they lose together. The players don’t deserve to wear the jerseys of these two clubs.”

Asante Kotoko will host Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
