Hearts of Oak held Medeama SC to a pulsating goalless draw game on match day 28 of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier on Sunday at the T&A Park in Tarkwa as their fight to escape relegation continues.

Three points was at stake at the T&A Park in Tarkwa as the game between the home side Medeama SC and Hearts of Oak was highly competitive but the Phobians target is to get the maximum points.

As usual Medeama playing at their favourite home ground started the game on a high note by mounting early pressure on the away side.

Malik Akowuah in the heart of Medeama’s midfield initiated most of the home side’s attacks as the Accra based club had little to do in the game but the Phobians defense looked very solid on the day.

The strength of Medeama outmuscled Hearts of Oak on many occasions as Kwame Boahene, Kwesi Donsu and Nathaniel Asamoah were delight to watch on the day but Hearts captain Robin Gnagne kept the Phobians in the game with brilliant interceptions.

In the 35th minute, Foovi Aguidi managed to find the back of the net but referee in the middle, Samuel Gyasi whistled for a foul against the Togolese import after he fouled his marker Daniel Amoah before he planted the ball in the net.

The Phobians started gaining confidence in the game but they failed to test the agile ability of Medeama shot stopper, Muntari Tagoe as the first half ended with no goals.

The second half performance by the two sides were nothing to write home about as the game was boring but the Phobians were more purposeful on the field of play searching for the open goal but Medeama looked contend with the 0-0 score line.

Kwame Boahene who tormented the Phobians in the first half of the game was curtailed in the second half by Hearts of Oak’s right back, Fatau Mohammed which gave the Phobians a lot of options to attack the home side.

Both sides fluffed the chances they created the game ended goalless, the results means the Phobians dropped to the 15th position on the log sheet with 36 points with two more games to end the season.
