Hearts of Oak missed the chance to close the gap at the top after losing 1-0 to AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium on Wednesday.

The Phobians conceded a first half own goal and went on to finish the game with ten men.

Hearts failed to recover from Kofi Agyare's 32nd minute own goal as they also saw defender Osei Bonsu dismissed for a second caution on the hour mark.

The result leaves the Phobians seven points behind rivals, Asante Kotoko at the top.
