Hearts confirm they will be selling players to offset debt

Hearts of Oak’s Managing Director Gerald Ankrah has confirmed the club is willing to sell some of its players once interests are expressed in them.

The Phobians are still seething from their exit from the CAF Confederations Cup at the hands of Esperance.

Their failed African bid came at a high cost with the club needing to borrow money to shore up their finances in the campaign.

The club will now be looking at various means to offset their debt and hopes to sell some of its leading performers.

But club Managing Director Gerald Ankrah says only minimal sales will be made this term.

“If teams are interested in our players, why not?” he said.

“Our objective is to keep the bulk of the team but don’t forget that last season we lost a lot of our players but were able to replace them.

“We will keep majority of them this time around and let a few go if need be.”
