Hearts congratulate Azumah

Accra, June 16, GNA - Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has sent a message of congratulations to Ghana's boxing legend, Azumah Nelson for his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in the United States of America (USA).

Azumah Nelson known in boxing circles as the "Professor or Barima" for his exploits in the Super Featherweight division in the late 80's and 90's when he managed to hold unto the title for years has been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastova, New York, USA.

In a statement signed by Mr Arshford Tettey-Oku, Administrative Manager of the Club, the boxer from 1984 and beyond brought consistent joy and smiles to all Ghanaians with his sterling punching prowess and performances in the boxing ring.

The statement said that, " We salute you for your humility, bravery, dedication, endurance, and nationalism which confirms you as the greatest boxer of all time."

The club urged all sports men and women to use the exploits of the renowned boxer as a reference point to achieve success, especially at this time that the nation makes another attempt to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Germany 2006.

The Statement added, "Barima, you are a legend and a genius, AYEKOO".
