Hearts face sanctions after reaction of fans

The Ghana Football Association are likely to come down hard on Accra Hearts of Oak after their fans pelted the match officials and left the Accra Sports Stadium pitch looking like a rubbish dump following defeat to Wa All Stars on Sunday.

The Phobians lost 1-3; their first this season but felt they had not been helped by the refereeing in the build up to one of the goals that they say was scored from an offside position.

It fed into the narrative before the game from some Hearts officials that the match officials are likely to favour the Upper West club and new league leaders.

The disciplinary committee has been known in the past to descend hard on the kind of scenes at the Accra Sports Stadium after their fans threw water bottles and sachet unto the pitch in protest.

A ban or fine or both is now inevitable after a day that marred an otherwise excellent start to the season for Hearts.
