Hearts fans furious with Kotoko

... request for Mahatma

Hearts fans have been angered by Kotoko’s request for the services of their top marksman Mahatma Otoo claiming it is a psychological attack on their team ahead of Sunday’s showdown.

The Kumasi-based side launched the audacious bid on Thursday after they tendered in an official letter for the services of the ex-Sporting Mirren captain.

Otoo is in the final four months of his existing deal, which allows him to hold discussions with any club of his choice.

Hearts want to tie him to at least a one-year extension so they could also benefit from any onward transfer fee.

Hearts supporters are unhappy with Kotoko’s attempt to lure their prize player especially with just three days before the two teams square off in the biggest match of the season.

“We’re not happy at all because we think this is a deliberate ploy to destabilise the focus of our team,” famous Hearts fans Ali Phobia said.

“They (Kotoko) are no interested in signing the player. They are just playing psychological games on the boy, and we are not happy about it.

“Mahatma Otoo will never play for Kotoko. It will never happen. He will not leave Soccer University to play for a Senior High School team.

“If he wants to move ahead, then he will move abroad to advance his career. Kotoko should forget about Otoo playing for them. It will never happen.

“We know what Kotoko have up their sleeves, and we’re ready for them. We’re going to beat them hands down,” he said.
