Hearts’ fans told to measure their expectations

Accra Hearts of Oak representative on the Ghana Premier League board Alahji Ankabi has moved to calm expectations of winning the Caf Confederation Cup following the team’ sparkling form in the competition so far.

On Friday, the Phobians secured a crucial 2-1 away victory over Djoliba AC of Mali in the Caf Confederation Cup round of eight first leg played in Bamako.

Coach Hebert Addo has guided the team across five matches without conceding a defeat in the competition, winning 4 and drawing 1.

“We are happy with the team’s performance so far in the Caf Confederation Cup. I must say the coach and the playing body have done so well that they deserve our praise,” Ankabi told Joy FM.

“I want the fans to know that we are not there yet. It is a gradual process and we have to take each game as it comes.

“I have heard people talk about us winning the competition but it is early days yet so we should measure our expectations.

“I believe we can do well in the competition and I will not be surprised if we win but we have to keep our focus,” he said.

Hearts will play host to Djoliba in the second leg on Sunday May 3 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
