Hearts involve in an accident ahead of Dwarfs match

Accra, Nov. 13, GNA - Accra Hearts of Oak were involved in a motor accident on the Accra-Cape Coast road on Sunday, hours before their last GT Premier League match against Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium.

A Joy FM news report monitored by the GNA Sports Desk said the bus in which the team was travelling, had a head-on collision with a "Tico" car but the players escaped unhurt.

The passengers in the "Tico" car were reported to have sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to a nearby hospital. Team Manager, Saban Quaye, said the team had arrived at Cape Coast and would honour the match.

Hearts trail rivals Asante Kokoto by four points and the outcome at Cape Coast would not prevent the Porcupine Warriors' from lifting the trophy.

Both Hearts and Kotoko would however, represent the country at next year's CAF Champions League.
