Hearts of Oak Eye Treble after Cup success

Hearts of Oak completed the second leg of an historic treble when they beat Okwawu United 2-0 to win Ghana's FA Cup on Sunday.

Hearts, who won the domestic league title in October, were made to work hard for their victory after taking a 10th-minute lead through Ishmael Addo, top scorer in the premier league. Okwawu went on the attack in the second half but were denied an equaliser by Hearts goalkeeper Sam Adjei, who pulled off a string of excellent saves.

Okwawu thought they had drawn level in the 78th minute when Hearts defender Edward Agyemang-Duah deflected a shot into his own net but the referee did not allow a goal, ruling there had been an offside offence.

Emmanuel Kuffour ended Okwawu's challenge two minutes from time when he slotted a second goal for Hearts. Hearts, the west African country's oldest club, are aiming to land a third trophy when they meet Tunisia's Esperance in the two-leg final of the African Champions League in December.
