Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey has expressed strong confidence in his team's chances of upsetting Asante Kotoko in the upcoming Democracy Cup.

The highly anticipated match between Ghana's two most glamorous clubs is set for Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, kicking off at 6 PM.

Speaking to Kessben FM Asibey shared his belief that Hearts of Oak are ready to defeat their rivals and lift the trophy.

"There is nothing like a friendly in matches involving Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko. It’s a Cup game between Hearts and Kotoko; definitely, there will be tension. Both teams are preparing to win the game on Wednesday. We are not taking the game lightly," said Asibey.

When asked if Hearts of Oak are poised to win the trophy, he confidently replied, "For sure. We are preparing well for the game. We are looking at winning the game."

Despite Asante Kotoko's back-to-back wins over Hearts of Oak during the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign, Asibey remains optimistic about their chances in the Democracy Cup.
