The Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak has set up a three-member committee to investigate a bribery allegations levelled against Alhaji Braimah Akambi.
Earlier this month, Sunsum Busumuru, former Public Relations Officer of the National Chapter Committee (NCC), the supporter’s body of the club alleged that, Alhaji Akambi took GHC200.00 bribe from Nkoranza Warriors official he introduced to the club for the transfer of one of Emmanuel Sarkodie.
According to Sunsum, the official from Nkoranza Warriors was given GHC500.00 after meeting Hearts of Oak officials for transportation and Alhaji Akambi arranged for a kick back of GHC200.00 from the original amount.
Both Alhaji Akambi and Kuuku Bartels have denied the allegations insisting nothing of that sort happened.
But Hearts of Oak in their effort to establish the truth of the matter have formed a three member committee to investigate on the matter.
Justice Ivy Heward Mills, Frank Nelson Nwokolo, Board Members, and Mr. Frederick Moore, Managing Director of the club, are members of the committee.
The committee will seek to establish the authenticity of the allegations and advise the Board accordingly.
Subsequently, Alhaji Akambi, who is also a Board Member is expected to step aside from the Board whilst the investigations are carried out.
According to the information, Alhaji Alkambi will step aside officially on Monday, April 27 2020.
