Chief Executive Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak, Frederick Moore has touted the achievements of his side and labeled them as the ‘greatest club in Africa’.

As the club prepares to celebrate its 108 anniversary celebrations, Frederick Moore has touched on a topic that is set to trigger a debate among fans of Hearts and their Kumasi rivals who pride themselves as ‘Africa’s club of the century’.

Hearts’ status as the country’s premier football club has been constantly challenged by rivals Kotoko who maintain that with over 38 trophies, they deserve to be tagged Ghana’s most decorated club.

But in an address at a press conference to announce plans for their upcoming anniversary celebrations, Frederick Moore bragged that his side’s achievement in their 108 years of existence place them above any club on the continent.

“I don’t think I need to remind you that Hearts is the premier club of Ghana. I also believe that we are the greatest club not just in Ghana but Africa so we need to show and prove that. It is not a small feat that this year we’ve decided to do the celebrations slightly different. With the support of Omy TV I believe that it will be a big one”, he said.

Since their formation in 1911, Hearts have won twenty Premier League titles, ten FA Cups, two Ghana Super Cup titles, one Confederation Cup trophy, a CAF Champions League trophy and one CAF Super Cup honours.

Hearts’ haul of thirty-five trophies comes nowhere close to continental giants, Al Ahly who have over amassed over 100 trophies since their establishment in 1907.
