Hearts of Oak new goalkeeper eyeing Black Stars call-up

Accra Hearts of Oak new signing Seidu Muntawakilu admits he would relish a call-up to the Black Stars though he says he is not in a rush.

The 19-year-old is the first-choice keeper for the Black Satellites (Ghana’s U20 side) and wants to progress to the senior ranks but admits he must work hard.

“I will never crave for a call up into the Black Stars. When the appropriate people see the quality in me and think that I must be called, I believe they will do so,” he said after passing his medicals at Hearts.

Muntawakilu is keen to impress and snatch a regular spot at Hearts but must now beat competition from experienced hands offer by Burkina Faso international Abdoulaye Soulama and Tetteh Luggard who has been at the club for the past three seasons.

The towering keeper left Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko to sign for rivals Hearts of Oak.
