Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak are planning to outwit their bitterest rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko ahead of their epic league clash at the Accra Stadium this Sunday.
As a result, the Phobians have pitched camp in Akuse in the Eastern Region, where they will move straight to the match venue, according to DAILY GUIDE SPORTS’ investigations.
In a midweek meeting that drew the club’s directors in Accra, they agreed to cough up GHC4,000 per head in bonuses as part of plans to win the remaining six league matches including this weekend’s Super Clash.
Past directors of the club, according to reliable sources, are also in secret meetings to raise a substantial amount for the operation-win-all-six-games campaign.
Besides focusing on wining the bragging rights against Kotoko this weekend, another slip, after losing 0-1 to New Edubiase last weekend, will send them deeper into the dreaded relegation arena.
Hearts triumphed in the first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium early this year, and will be hoping to replicate the feat. But the quest of Kotoko, who are equally struggling in the league, to pay their rivals in their own coin is what has heightened tensions ahead of the game.
Hearts are in the relegation zone after 24 games with 29 points, while Kotoko are placed 11th with 32 points on the First Capital Plus League log.
