Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak have terminated the contract Isaac Mintah, who joined the club during the transfer window.

The former Karela United defensive midfielder has been sacked less than four months into his two-year deal with the Phobians.

Mintah was a key cog in the Karela United team that reached the final of the GFA NC Special Competition, however, he failed to impress the technical handlers of the Accra-based side who lie 12th on the league table with seven points after six matches played.

He dropped down the pecking order behind the likes of Benjamin Afutu, Emmanuel Nettey, Fredrick Ansah Botchway, Nuredeen Abdul Aziz, Charles McCarthy, and Aminu Mohammed.

Speaking in an interview with Atinka FM to confirm the news, he said, "Before the transfer window closed, I had offers from other clubs, so I went to meet the leadership of the club and asked them about my future, I was asked to go back and train because am still their player and will count on me."

"I joined the team in view of training hard to impress the new coach but now they’ve asked me not to train with the club again.

"If they knew I wasn’t part of their plans why didn't they allow me to leave when I ask them to?

"I have no grudges against anybody, the opportunity came for me to join one of the biggest clubs on the continent but it's sad the way things have panned out", Mintah concluded.
