Accra Hearts of Oak, along with three other Ghana Premier League sides, have adopted the University of Ghana Stadium as their temporary home venue.

Dreams FC, Legon Cities, and Accra Lions are the other clubs that are set to use the venue for a short while.

The four clubs, except Legon Cities, used the Accra Sports Stadium as their home venue but had to relocate after the National Sports Authority closed the stadium for renovation works.

The NSA officially announced on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, that it has closed down the Accra Sports Stadium and the Cape Coast Sports Stadium for renovations.

The renovations come in response to an uproar from Ghanaians after CAF deemed all national venues in Ghana unfit to host category 3 matches.

CAF withdrew its approval of Baba Yara Sports Stadium, which was the only fit venue left, after Angola complained about the state of the pitch during their 1-0 win over the Black Stars in September 2024.

In reaction to CAF's disapproval, the NSA closed down the Baba Yara Stadium, noting that it will undergo robust changes to get the venue up to standard before Ghana's next home game.
