Hearts of Oak to face Heart of Lions in Homowo Cup match on August 11

Accra Hearts of Oak will face Heart of Lions in the highly anticipated Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup match set to take place on August 11 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The match, organized by Gbese Mantse His Royal Majesty Nii Dr Ayi Bonte II, aims to promote charity and peace ahead of the General Elections.

Speaking at the press launch held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the Gbese Mantse Palace, Nii Armah Opah II, representing Gbese Mantse, emphasized the significance of the match in commemorating the Homowo celebrations.

Afua Achiaa Boateng, Operations Manager of Hearts of Oak, encouraged fans to show their support in large numbers. "We are delighted to be part of this event at Hearts of Oak. We urge all our fans to come out and support us. As the proud hosts of Accra, we look forward to a thrilling match," she stated.

Stephen Botchway, who represented Heart of Lions also urged supporters from Kpando to come and rally behind their beloved team. "We want the people of Kpando to come and support their beloved team. I think all the political leaders must also represent," he added.

Sammy Anim Addo, lead promoter of the match, announced ticket prices, including a special subsidized rate of 5 cedis for residents of Ga Mashie.

"On August 11, 2024, ticket prices will start at 10 cedis at the gate, with lower VIP tickets at 50 cedis, upper VIP at 100 cedis, and VVIP at 200 cedis," he disclosed.

Abdul Mannaf Sowah and Alfred Kotey Ashie, the leading Parliamentary Candidates of the Odododiodio Constituency, pledged to purchase tickets for fans to attend the match.

The Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup is expected to commemorate the Homowo celebrations, empower the youth and unite fans of the leading political parties.
