Accra Hearts of Oak will face Hearts of Lions in the 2024 Gbese Mantse Homowo Peace Charity Cup match at the Accra Sports Stadium.

A statement released by the organizers indicated that the match aims to promote peace and is scheduled for August 11, 2024.

"The 'Gbese Mantse Homowo Peace Charity Cup' match will be held at Accra Sports Stadium on August 11, 2024. The office of His Royal Majesty Nii Dr. Ayi Bonte XI announces this to the public and the Ghanaian sporting community."

"The Peace Charity Match will see two rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club and Hearts of Lions Football Club, compete against each other - all in an effort to promote peace."

The 2023 edition of the cup match between Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics was called off, hence, the organizers are ensuring that the 2024 match goes ahead as planned.

The ceremonial fixture will be officially launched on Tuesday, July 23, at the palace of the Gbese Mantse, Ussher Fort, in Accra.
