ACCRA HEARTS OF OAK TO PLAY ADA ELEVEN IN ASAFOTUFIAMI 50TH ANNIVERSARY CORANATION
MATCH.

By: Dennis Narterh Adzigodi, Ada.

The Champion club Accra Hearts of Oak will play Ada Eleven in a special coronation
football match at Big Ada Presby Park on Tuesday 9th August 2011 to commemorate and
climax these years 50th Anniversary in the history of the Asafotufiami Festival and
believe me or not the Hearts – Ada Eleven fiesta has started rocketing the whole
atmosphere in the area as though it is the most biggest side attraction.
This paper can confirm this as this reporter went to spend days in the area to
monitor events towards the celebration. Perhaps what makes it more exciting and
titillating is that fact that a famous club like Hearts Of Oak is showing up in what
can be described as a big showdown in a festival like the Ada Asafotufiami festival.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Wojaku paper the President of the Dangme
East Football Association Mr. Emmanuel Gamel Aryerh also known as Coach Gamel
disclosed that his office together with the Ada Asafotufiami festival planning
committee have put up this special match to add more glamour to this years Festival.
He said like the previous years where the Asafotufiami Annual Gala competition is
played between teams within the District they have seen the need of the Dangme East
District football Association (DFA) to engage other premier league sides in the
country as away of exhibiting football talents in the district to the rest of the
world.
Mr. Gamel said players were selected from all the various teams in the District to
form one strong team to play the 2000 champions league winners which will be the
first time in the history of the Asafotufiami Festival where a premier league side
will be playing against Ada selected side. He said all is poised for the match and
all the players are psyche up to make history by playing against Accra Hearts of
Oak. He disclosed that the district Football Association is in talks with the other
premier league sides for possible consideration to be engaging the third division
clubs in the district in regular friendly matches as away of helping to build and
strengthen the teams in the district.
Before the Hearts Match he said five teams from Ada will be playing in a special
warm up knockout gala competition to set the stage for the big match which kicks
start at exactly 3:00pm local time. The teams include Big Ada All stars, Kasseh F.C,
Sege F.C, Sharp Arrows and Nimeli F.C which comprise old students from Ada Senior
High School who are participating as part of their 50th Anniversary that coincides
with these years Asafotufiami 50th Anniversary and also the first time public
training session and introduction of De Nart Soccer Academy, the first Non
residential Soccer Academy side in the district in the morning before the gala
matches.
He has therefore called on all to make this match a very memorable one and come in
their numbers to cheer the Ada Eleven to victory.
The head coach for the Ada Eleven, Coach Boye Aryerh a.k.a Coach Opeele also later
in an interview revealed that the team is ready and poised for action against the
Nineteen (19) times premier league champions and is ready to make history against
Accra Hearts Of Oak as the first local Coach from Ada to beat them. He hopes the
Hearts of Oak team will parade their regular squad against his team as he is geared
up for the match. He prayed that this competition is sustained to unearth more
talents that abound in the district but always go waste because of lack of football
managers in the district to promote them.
The district sports coordinator Mr. Darlington E.N Debrah a.k.a Flash has also
lauded the idea of engaging the premier league sides in such competitions and
expressed optimism that such a thing will promote and project the abundant football
and other talents in the district. He has therefore called on all the spectators who
will come to witness the game to comport themselves to help project the name of Ada
outside so as to get all the premier sides to play in Ada.
Special invited guests to grace the match includes the Paramount chief of Ada, Nene
Abraham Kabu Akuaku (III), Member of Parliament for Ada, Honourable Alex
Tettey-Enyo, Greater Regional Football Association (RFA) chairman, Mr. Jordan
Anagblah, The youth Development chief for Ada, Nene Tetteh Kake Peemi (I), Members
of the Asafotufiam planning committee, Chiefs and other invited dignitaries.
Coaches for the Ada Eleven are Coach Boye Aryerh a.k.a Coach Opeele and Coach Joseph
Buer from Sege where Accra Hearts Of oak is expected to be coached by their Serbian
coach Voricevic Nebojsa.
