Accra Hearts of Oak is considering making a move for Berekum Chelsea captain, Mohamed Abdul Basit, as part of efforts to augment the playing body ahead of the season.

Abdul Basit, one of the key players of the Brong Ahafo based side is reported to be seeking a move away from the club and Hearts looks the possible destination for the player.

Hearts has however made a request for the services of the player and negotiations have commenced for his possible release.

Media reports reveal that, the decision to move in for the player was due to challenges with securing the services of Liberty Professional striker Kennedy Ashia.

Ashia was highly tipped to join Hearts but there are possible moves for him outside the country hence the decision of Hearts to settle on him.

Abdul Basit who was influential in the club's Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Champions League campaign a couple of seasons ago, is expected to bring his rich experience to bare in the Hearts set up.
