Hearts of Oak were lucky we didn't play with our full squad - Chelsea coach brags

After beating Hearts of Oak by a lone goal at the Accra Sports Stadium on match day one, coach Emmanuel Effah of Berekum Chelsea claims Hearts were lucky not to have received a trashing because Chelsea couldn’t field some of its best players due to injuries.

Chelsea who were winners of the league in 2012 caused a major upset at the Accra Sports Stadium after getting the maximum three points thanks to a Jonah Attuquaye strike in the first half.

Chelsea, playing away from home outclassed and outplayed Hearts of Oak to the amazement of the Phobian supporters who are now calling for the head of their coach, Kim Grant.

Though many believed that the Berekum based club have done a good job on the Phobians, their head coach believes that the game would have been a lot easier if they had their full squad.

"Our tactics worked to perfection and we prepared very well with the 4-2-3-1 formation. We watched the Kotoko vs Hearts at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. We were there to access them and we saw everything"

"They were even lucky that some of our players didn't play this match because it would have been another story. I can't expose myself here but we are going to work on our weakness when we return to Berekum,"said Emmanuel Effah at post-match conference.
