Hearts react to Sahara's claim

Accra, June 30, GNA - Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has stated that Sahara Boys FC, a supposed former club of Louis Agyemang has no legal right to claim that they have withdrawn the player from the Club. It said, "Hearts also rejects any attempt by Sahara to give the Club any ultimatum on the player, especially when they have no legal right to the player".

In reference to a letter sent to Hearts, by Sahara stating the withdrawal of the player from Hearts, Mr Ernest Thompson, Board Secretary of Hearts in a statement copied to the GNA Sports said Hearts is not aware of any laid down regulations as been claimed by the Kumasi based club.

According to the statement, the Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), which is more knowledgeable about the rules of the game, has already ruled in favour of the Club to the effect that the player is a legally registered player of Hearts. The statement recounted attempts made by Sahara FC to pursue the case at the Appeals Committee of the GFA, but it was also dismissed, hence the colts club has no case in stating that they have withdrawn the player from Hearts.

Agyemang, a regular member of Hearts in the 2004 soccer season is yet to kick a ball for the League leaders this season due to the protracted dispute between Hearts and his former club over his ownership.
