Former Ghana midfielder, Laryea Kingston has disclosed that, he could not join Hearts of Oak earlier due to the squad size.
In his view, that time was too early to join Accra Hearts Of Oak.
Speaking on the Football Legends Night Show, on GHOne TV on Friday, 24th, November, 2017, the ex-Black Stars player narrated that, ”I remember Thomas Okine picked us from Winneba Sports College to join Hearts of Oak, we supposed to sign for Hearts but when we got there, the squad they have is a big team,”
”The players that have played all the various National teams so we [ Attram and I] saw it that when we sign for Hearts we won’t be able to have a chance to have playing time,” Laryea added.
”So I told Attram is better we start from Olympics which we took a very good decision and it helped.That gave us a very good platform for people to recognise,” he stated.
Laryea Kingston was influential during his playing time for the Phobians between 2001-2003. He played for top European Football Clubs including Hearts of Midlothian, Scotland and Holland’s Vitesse Arnhem.
