Kumasi, May 6, GNA - Mr Mathew Ossei-Poku, the out-going First Vice-Chairman in charge of the Northern Sector of the National Chapters Committee (NCC) of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, has cautioned supporters against being apathetic towards the Club's activities. He said that the recent dismal performance by the Club calls for total support from all well-meaning supporters to reverse the trend, advising them not to be discouraged or downhearted since the Club has the potential to bounce back to its former form if given the needed motivation.
Mr. Ossei-Poku who is also the founder and leader of Chapter 72 at Bantama in Kumasi was speaking to the GNA Sports in Kumasi on Tuesday. Hearts remained unimpressive in the First Round of this year's One-Touch Premier League as they put up a dismal performance in most of their matches, a situation that has seem them among the bottom clubs on the league table.
Mr. Ossei-Poku said it was unfortunate that most supporters, especially members of the Regional Chapters Committee (RCC) were shying away from the Committee's activities due to the inconsistent performance by the Club in recent times. This development, he noted, was a disincentive to Hearts' progress in view of the important role supporters played in the performance of the players and the Club's development. He charged the supporters, management, board and technical team as well as the playing body to put their differences aside and work hard to ensure that the club improved upon its performance in the second round of the league. 06 May 08
