Hearts to train at Accra Sports Stadium

Ghana's Confederations Cup campaigners, Accra Hearts of Oak would from Wednesday 4 August move their training sessions from the Legon Park to Accra Sports Stadium.

A statement signed by Ashford Tettey Oku, Administrative Secretary of the club copied to the GNA Sports said the move was to afford their teeming supporters the opportunity to see the club?s preparations and how combat ready it is for Saturday's Confederations Cup match against Santos of South Africa.

The statement said Hearts are attaching great importance to the match in view of the fact that Santos is not new to the Ghanaian terrain and have performed creditably on the two occasions that they played against Kumasi King Faisal and Asante Kotoko. The statement said the training was also to afford the supporters the opportunity to put in their inputs, suggestions and spiritual efforts to ensure that Hearts prevails on Saturday.

"Winning the match is crucial to the Confederations Cup aspirations of Accra Hearts of Oak, as it would set a good tone to carry them into their subsequent match."

Hearts, winners of the 2000 Champions League have been put in Group B of the inaugural mini league stage of the CAF Confederations Cup with Santos of South Africa, Cottonsport Club of Cameroon and the winner of the Sable de Batie of Cameroon and Olando Pirates of South Africa match which has been scheduled for August 15.

Winners of Group A and B would meet in the two-leg grand-finale scheduled to take place in November and December this year.
