Communications Director of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Sarfo Duku has claimed that Accra Hearts of Oak used Kumasi Asante Kotoko for Economic gains through the Tabea sponsored super 2 friendlies.
The head of the 12-man Asante Kotoko communication team stated that the supporters of Hearts of oak who came to watch the two-legged friendly matches were less than 20% and money generated from the gate proceeds was been impressive, thanks to the numerous fans of Kotoko.
The idea to play such a friendly match was initiated by Hearts of oak but suffered a 4-0 defeat on aggregate over the two legs. Despite the painful loses, the Phobians made an approximate net of GHC 90,000 likewise Kotoko, but Sarfo Duku believes Hearts of oak used Kotoko to enrich themselves.
“It’s all about Kotoko, looking at things Hearts used us to gain money”, Sarfo Duku stated, speaking to FOX 97.9 FM on Rush Hour sports.
When asked why he claims so, Sarfo referred to the fact that most of the fans that trooped to the stadium were Kotoko fans as Hearts fans were less than 20% of the total attendance.
“Their supporters who came were less than 20% of you calculate it and to be honest, the evidence was so clear, all of you (the media) were there, everyone knows it in Ghana, and it’s an open secret”, he boasted.
