Hearts warns Bortey

Accra, Aug 12, GNA - Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has warned Bernard Don Bortey, to be of good behaviour or attract a severer punishment in the future, if he was found to be involved in another act of indiscipline.

The player was last week handed three-match ban by the Disciplinary Committee of Ghana Football Association (GFA), when he was found to have exchanged blows with a player of Berekum Arsenals, Seth Opoku, after the eleventh week premier league match at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.

A statement signed by Mr Tommy Okine, Chief Executive of the club said the behaviour of Don Bortey constitute a misconduct under article 40(71) of the club's regulations.

The statement said, the club intended imposing an additional two-match ban for the needless incident but recalled a previous suspension of the player earlier in the season and has thus, stayed off further action.

Don Bortey was earlier in the year given an indefinite suspension by the Management Board of the Club for skipping training sessions without permission.
