Footy-ghana.com can confirm that Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Helegbe has been ruled out of Sunday’s Super Clash with Hearts of Oak in Accra.

According to our sources, Helegbe failed to recover from an injury he sustained during Asante Kotoko’s 2-1 win over Aduana Stars in Sunyani over the weekend.

Yahaya Mohammed is expected to start in his place. Footy-ghana.com also understands that another Kotoko midfielder Issa Yakubu is also ruled out of the match due to a medical condition called “Athlete’s foot.”

In a related development, Asante Kotoko defeated non-league side Dosonec 3-1 in a friendly played on Thursday.

After Dosonec had taken the lead, Jordan Opoku, Yahaya Mohammed and Abdul Aziz Yusif scored to win the game for the Porcupine Warriors. Kotoko used two different squads in each half.
