Kumasi Asante Kotoko has lost midfielder Michael Helegbe to Premier League rivals Medeama SC XYZ Sports can confirm.
The former Black Meteors captain has featured only three times for the Porcupine Warriors this season and has fallen out of with Head Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
Helegbe who joined the League Champions from Liberty professionals in the second half of the 2011 campaign failed to renew his contract with the club due to some contractual disagreements between the two parties.
XYZ Sports can reveal that the player is willing to play for only one more year while Kotoko are looking at a two-year deal.
The influential midfielder who played a key role in the clubs title defense last season has since agreed to join the mauves and yellows for the second round of the Premier League season.
The former Guingamp player is set to bolster the Medeama squad for next seasons CAF Confederations Cup.
The Tarkwa lads are expected to unveil the player within the week after his medicals. Helegbe becomes the second Kotoko player to join the Tarkwa lads after Kofi Agyare’s move last week.
