Herbert Addo backs Fiamenyo this season

Herbert Addo has praised Hearts striker Gilbert Fiamenyo for his hunger to recapture his form ahead of the start of the new season, labeling him as a ‘fantastic’ player.

Fiamenyo has not endeared himself to the Hearts fans since he arrived from Heart of Lions with injuries taken a lions’ share of his problems.

The mis-firing striker has been severely criticized for his poor vision in front of goal during this year’s GHALCA top-four competition.

But coach Addo has impressed with the striker in training and believes he will come good this season. “Fiamenyo is doing well and must be encouraged. In this country we criticize too much. He misses one or two chances and we start condemning him,” he said in defends of Fiamenyo

“He is doing well at training and playing according to tactics. We must not kill people with our mouths. “He is a fantastic player and must be given the necessary support to attain his level for the club.

“I have no doubt in my mind that he will play a key role for us this season.”

Fiamenyo is believed to be the ‘darling’ of majority shareholder Togbe Afede XIV with reports claiming David Duncan’s decision to leave him out resulted in his dismissal at the club.
