Ho Celebrates Black Stars Victory

Ho, June 18, GNA - Hundreds of people including students and the aged last night thronged the streets of Ho in jubilation over the Black Stars sweet victory over the Czechs Republic in their group E match played in Cologne on Saturday. Some of the jubilant crowd, who were in groups wore Black Stars replica jerseys, while others carried miniature Ghana Flags with Areeba cheer hats amidst singing.

Taxi drivers and other transport users could not help but join the joyful mood with the tooting of horns. At the Ho Polytechnic, students, including females enjoyed themselves with the traditional borborbor drumming and dancing throughout the night moving from one hostel to another. At the Civic Centre where a large group had gathered to watch the match in the central part of the town, many danced to loud music produced by stores and shops in the area, while other football fans congregated to review the match vis-a-vis the chances of the Black Stars in their next match against the United States of America.

However, all roads seemed to have led to the drinking bars in the township which had a fields' day as football lovers continue to ask for more drinks to bury the night with the jubilation. When the Ghana News Agency visited the " Hit and Run" bar at 23:30 hours, it learnt "booze" was in short supply and customers were singing, while waiting for fresh supply to be brought.
