Ghanaian female 100m runner, Hor Halutie recorded the second best time in Ghana at the just ended National Athletics Circuit which came off at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium during the weekend.
The 18 year old athlete run a time of 11.57s in the Women 100m heat and has 0.31s to drop in other to meet the qualification time for the upcoming IAAF World Championship in London. Hor who was discovered this year by GAA at the first circuit which was held in Tamale, and she tells Starr Sports that her target is to win gold medals for Ghana.
“You know now in Ghana the female athletes are few, and when we go for international competitions we always struggle to beat the likes of Nigeria, Kenya etc. we fail to make then needed impact and am here to make the difference. My target is to work harder and win Gold medals for Ghana at international competition.”
“The problem is about equipment for training like spikes, training wears etc. even money to buy food before and after training is even a problem so Ghanaians should support us financially so we can also work harder to conquer the world.” She added
Meanwhile Mathew Nantiere beats 2015 Milo Marathon winner MalickYakubuto win the men’s 5000m race. He clocked a time of 14:47s.
