Veteran broadcaster, Kwami Sefa Kayi, has asserted that Ghanaian Sudan head coach Kwasi Appiah has been vindicated following the win over the Black Stars in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Sefa Kayi said he was not startled by the Black Stars' loss to Sudan because he knew Kwasi Appiah would orchestrate an upset.

He added that the victory proved Kwasi Appiah was a good manager but was not given time to implement his ideas during his spell at Black Stars.

"I told you Kwasi Appiah would beat us. For me, I'm happy that Kwasi Appiah has beaten us. Was he not our coach? Didn't he say he was building a team so we should give him some time? How long has he been Sudan's coach? I always say vindication is the womb of time. Kwasi Appiah stands vindicated. I'm not hurt," he said on Peace FM.

Kwasi Appiah's contract ran out in January 2020, and the GFA refused to renew his deal.

Four years on, he has led Sudan to beat Ghana 0-2 and is on the verge of qualifying the Falcons for the AFCON after missing out on the previous edition in Ivory Coast.

Meanwhile, Ghana is on the brink of not qualifying after amassing just two points from four games.
