I am being undermined by my players - Polo

Hearts of Oak coach Mohammed Polo claims he is being sabotaged by his detractors including some of his players.

The ex-Ghana star is presiding over perhaps the worst ever reign with the Phobians.

Hearts hit a new low with a humiliating 3-0 home defeat to Wa All Stars. The crashing defeat on Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium is the second straight huge defeat suffered against All Stars and has triggered a serious agitation within the club’s fans.

But Polo now says he is being undermined by some of his senior players. “The supporters remain divided on my appointment and it is not helping,” he told Asempa FM.

“Worse of it they are using the players [against me].

“When we resumed training, some of the senior players don’t come to train. In the first week of resumption, the second week of resumption even in the third week their participation in training was even worse. But what can you do? These are the registered players.”

Hearts have been in serious distress since the shocking dismissal of coach David Duncan who was at that point just four points behind league leaders Asante Kotoko.

The Phobians have now dropped to fourth – seven points behind Kotoko who have a game in hand.
