Newly appointed Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie has expressed delight over his appointment.
The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association in its maiden meeting on Thursday appointed the Liberty Professionals director as the vice President of the FA.
The 45 year old football was favoured to land the position after Fred Crenstil who was then the Vice President of the FA lost the Executive Committee election last month, meaning the former Hearts of Oak CEO will not have the chance to continue as the FAs vice President.
George Afriyie after his appointment expressed delight over his new position.
I am honoured to be named as the GFA Vice President. This means the association believes in me and what I can bring on board.
My new position is a big challenge, so I need to work harder to meet the expectation of the association. We find ourselves in a situation where everything of the FA is monitored closely by the media, he said.
Afriyie is currently the management committee chairman of the Black Stars of Ghana.
