I am more than happy here - Gyan

Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan says he is more than happy to stay with Al-Ain adding that he has no intention of leaving any time soon.

Gyan, one of the best strikers on the African continent, is being sought after by several Clubs in Europe due to his great prowess when it comes to scoring goals for both Club and country.

The striker, who is gunning for the AFC Champions League top scorer award, says he wants to earn the right of wearing the Club’s armband as the captain of the team one day.

“My move to Al Ain has been great. I always say that I want be a legend at this Club and that is what I am aiming at. Football here is fast improving and I have no intentions of leaving,” a relaxed Gyan added, singing the praises of this desert oasis he now calls home, 150 miles inland from the hustle and bustle of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

“I’m enjoying my football again and things are going great with Ghana right now. I’m really just enjoying my life and I am more than happy here.”

Gyan has been top scorer in the UAE’s Arabian Gulf League for the last two seasons, since making his much-publicized move from English side Sunderland to 11-time Emirati league champions Al Ain FC. Now 28, he’s played for Udinese in Italy’s Serie A and with French side Rennes while amassing more than 80 caps for Ghana.
