I am not in haste for Stars' top spot - Ofori

Goalkeeper Richard Ofori of Wa All Stars Goalkeeper Richard Ofori of Wa All Stars

Goalkeeper Richard Ofori insists he is in no rush to overtake Razak Brimah and Fatau Dauda to become the first choice for Ghana.

The Wa All Stars goalkeeper is being tipped as the future starter in between the sticks for the Black Stars due to his consistent displays in the Ghanaian top flight.

Ofori will, however, need to prove his mettle against current first choice Razak Brimah and his deputy Fatau Dauda.

Oforis place in the team will come under more threat when self-exiled Adam Kwarasey decides to make a return onto the international scene.

He is thus being urged to make a step up towards becoming the first choice in the shortest possible time.

But the Ghana U23 goalkeeper says he is bidding his time to achieve this feat.

I went to the Black Stars to meet Fatau Dauda and Razak Brimah and they have been helping me a lot, he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

To become no.1 for your country is every goalkeepers dream but this thing takes time.

It doesn't happen just overnight and I am willing to learn from those ahead of me and when the right time comes, I am sure I will get there.
