USA-based goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has rubbished concerns that he is committed to the Ghana national team with many accusing the Norway-born shot-stopper of not being patriotic.

Kwarasey launched a foul-mouthed tirade at Black Stars goalkeepers’ trainer Nassam Yakubu after the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

Attempts have been made to have the former Stromsgodset goalkeeper return to the national team with the recent being an invitation for the friendly match against Canada last month.

Ghana coach Avram Grant indicated his desire for the shot-stopper to return for the friendly against Canada two months ago but the expected return failed to materialise sparking concerns that he is not committed to the Black Stars.

Kwarasey has played down those concerns insisting he is committed to Ghana following a question posed by a Ghanaian fan to the goalkeeper on social media.

The clamour of the Portland Timbers shot-stopper to return to the national team grew a notch higher on Thursday when he on the Best Save of the MLS award for his heroics on the American top-flight.

There are reports the Norway-born claims he will only return to the team when Yakubu is sacked but that claim has also been rubbished.

Grant, the former Chelsea coach, insists he does not factor in personal sentiments when making call ups to the Black Stars but stressed players must make his criteria for selection.

Grant has re-iterated he has no personal vendetta with in-form goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey.

The Israeli trainer has been unsuccessful in trying to convince the Portland Timbers gloves man to end his self-imposed exile.
