Former Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, has backtracked on his support for head coach Otto Addo.
The former Udinese man's comments follow Ghana's abysmal performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Agyemang-Badu apologized for adding his voice to calls for Otto Addo's return, claiming that the job is beyond the German-trained gaffer.
"I apologize [as I was part] of those who advocated for the second coming of coach Otto Addo. If you go into my interviews, I gave him massive support but I’m sorry," he told Onua TV.
"It seems the task is beyond him."
The Black Stars suffered a catastrophic defeat to Sudan, losing 2-0 at the Martyrs of February Stadium.
The loss was Otto Addo's third since taking over in March 2024. He has managed 8 matches, won two, drew three and lost three.
Ghana now face the huge adversity of not qualifying for Africa's flagship competition in 2025 after earning just two points from four games and, as a result, sitting third in their group.
