Ghanaian football legend, Abedi Ayew Pele has revealed that he finds it difficult watching his sons play for the national team, the Black Stars.

According to the Maestro, the sight of his sons in action for the Black Stars reminds him of his days with the national team and the pressure he had to endure.

Contrary to the notion that the proud father of three Ghanaian players enjoys watching his sons play for the Blacks Stars, Abedi Pele noted that he only catches a glimpse of his sons when they score goals.

Speaking in an interview with GTV Sports+, the maestro explained he always finds himself in an emotional position anytime he watches his sons play for the national team.

“I have seen them play so many times, now I don’t like to see them especially now I don’t want to see them lose, I don’t want to see them with injury and I don’t want to see them with so many things,” Abedi Ayew said in the interview monitored by Ghanaweb.

He added, “That kind of fear puts me in an emotional position when it comes to the children and especially the Black Stars I don’t like watching. When they are playing it’s like I’m on the field playing, the pressure is on me, it’s too much, my wife is the same.”

“It’s a very difficult situation when they are playing, I only run and come and watch a glimpse when one of them scores,” the Maestro said with humour.

Abedi’s three male children Rahim, Andre and Jordan Ayew have all had their time with the national team.
