FC Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu is focused on achieving success as his team prepares for their first participation in the CAF Champions League.
The Timber Giants will represent Ghana in the prestigious competition after winning the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
Last season, Karim Zito and Evans Adotey led Dreams FC and Medeama SC to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League, respectively, in their debut attempts.
In an interview, Amadu expressed his hope that his team can draw inspiration from the performances of Medeama and especially Dreams, who reached the semifinals of the Confederation Cup.
"It's a privilege, and I take inspiration from people like [Karim] Zito and [Evans] Adotey. We are all proud of what Medeama has achieved as a club," he said.
"Since it's our debut, we are also aiming to go far and do our best. It won't be easy, but the technical team, the players, the management, and the investors are all motivated to elevate the team to a new level."
FC Samartex will face Cameroonian side Victoria United in the preliminary round of the competition.
The first leg is scheduled for August 18 at the Omnisport Stadium in Limbe, with the return leg set for August 25, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
