I have not extended my contract with Ashgold - Bashir Hayford

Ashantigold coach Bashir Hayford has vehemently rejected claims of signing contract extension at the club.

The club's Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo claimed a month ago that the experienced Ghanaian tactician has signed a contract extension after guiding the side to win their first Premier League crown in 19-years.

But in a shocking twist of event, the former Kotoko trainer has denied the claims by his boss insisting he not signed the dotted lines despite agreeing in principle to renew his mandate.

“We have discussed the contract, but I have not seen it so I have not signed," he told Accra-based Starr FM

"My contact expired way back in July. But, because of my cordial relationship with the management I am working with, I decided to continue.

“I went to the Mines with my CEO Kudjoe Fianoo but we discussed the contract extension, but they are yet to bring out with it for me to study and append my signature. Once the team has qualified for Africa, it is very prudent for me to stay."

The former Asante Kotoko Coach was offered the new deal after guiding AshantiGold to end their 19-year wait for a Ghana Premier League title last season.
