I'll destroy Black Stars anywhere — Prince Daye

LONE Star’s exciting winger, Prince Daye, who emerged as one of the destructive weapons in the Black Stars’ 3-1 nightmarish demolition last Sunday has vowed to destroy the Ghanaians anytime they clash.

The ex-Madina Republicans star, said he has an axe to grind with the Black Stars and will ensure he carries it to the letter till the end of his career.

He dismissed the argument that the Stars will avenge the 3-1 defeat in Monrovia, saying “having beaten them convincingly here, there is no way they can beat us at our own backyard”.

The nimble-footed Daye made the declaration to the Graphic Sports in an exclusive post-match interview.

The player who tore the Stars defence into shreds last Sunday revealed that he went out there to prove a point to Ghanaians as to his capabilities and was happy to convince all with that wonderful performance.

Giving insight into that pent-up anger which he intends to unleash on Ghana, the offensive midfielder who plies his trade with French division one side, Bastia, attributed his stance to the manner Ghanaian clubs downplayed his capabilities while here.

Prince Daye said before he left for France in 1996 to join Bastia, he stayed at the Buduburam camp with other colleague refugees and struggled without success to play top level soccer in the country.

He noted that he had to settle with second division Madina Republicans for a while before leaving for Liberia to play Invincible Eleven FC.

Daye was not in the least surprised about the victory over the Black Stars as he noted that the calibre of players they now parade has made the Lone Star the team to beat on the continent currently.

“The Ghanaian opposition was no bother to us since we had a team which was far better than the Black Stars”, he boasted.

The Liberian star who plays alongside young Ghanaian players, Michael Essien and Ajeboye, in Bastia believes this is the time for Liberia to be at the World Cup.

“Having beaten Ghana now, our chances look very bright and I am quite optimistic we will make it to the World Cup this time”, Daye stated confidently.

He indicated that they came to Accra to play their typical game and win and that is exactly what happened.

Prince Daye stressed that the Lone Star are now a strong team and whoever underrate them do so at their own peril.
