'I'll give up my wife for Hearts' – Traguil

Portuguese trainer Sergio Traguil has said he will give up his wife for Accra Hearts of Oak.

Traguil was originally hired by the Phobians to coach the youth team but will take over the club as head coach following the exit of Kenichi Yatsuhashi, whose contract was terminated by mutual consent to enable him to pursue a course abroad.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Class Sports’ Hussein Hassan on Wednesday, June 22, the Portuguese trainer noted he could not promise winning titles for Hearts, but would give up his wife for the club.

“The only thing I can promise is hard work, and I will give up my wife for the club. I will be the first one to stand with them, but I can’t promise that I will win titles, I can’t promise that I will win the league or Champions League or whatever because I am just arriving in the main team now, so give me some time,” he stated.

Traguil noted he would not be intimidated by the job as head coach because his appointment will not be his first time as a head coach.

“It is not intimidating; I am used to it. It is not the first time I [have led] a premier league club, it is not the first time I [have led] a senior team, but I came to build a very strong youth system, but I am a Hearts of Oak worker, so they asked me to lead the team because they are in a very tough moment, it’s not easy…I understand what is going on,” he stated.
